My ride from Jersey City
Looking back towards Jersey City en route to Newark… This is the Lincoln Highway bridge over the Passaic River (the first bridge on this route crosses the Hackensack). This photo is of the widest non-road path in the summer. The rest of the path is overgrown. On Sunday morning en route to the music fest I encountered another rider going in the opposite direction (towards JC like this photo) on the narrowest part of the route. With aplomb and dexterity, the rider jumped over this railing with oncoming traffic behind him, lifted up his bike (right when a touring bus was less than a foot behind him), and rode on. I barely lifted my jaw off the ground to thank him. He took my gratitude in stride as he rode off, never having taken off his ear phones.
